Composed by a series of continuous segments taking place over the course of a 24hr journey across the diverse Southern California landscape, the short film follows Karen, a land worker living in a not so distant future, as she commutes across the desert to an utopian plasmic farm and back home, culminating in an artificial phenomenon denominated ‘The Afterglow’ generated by the re-entry and subsequent burn of orbiting infrastructure.
The piece extrapolates the use of colour to set the moods and identity related to each particular geographical location, but also to disguise it’s leading the spectator into a rather dark psychological journey.
